Building Permits & Applications

The City of Millersburg shares Building Department duties and responsibilities with Linn County.  The City takes in, and issues all building permits.  The County does the technical review of the permits, and all inspections.  The County Building Official is also the City's Building Official.  The City will help an applicant submit a payment with a credit-card over the front counter here at City Hall.  You can also pay online using Accela ePermitting (see below). Payments using cash or check must be made in person at the County Building Department- 300 SW 4th Ave, room 114 Albany.

The City of Millersburg uses Linn County building permit applications for residential and commercial building permits, you can find the full list of building applications here.  Here are direct links to the most popular applications:

You are welcome to print any building permit applications and bring in hard copies to Millersburg City Hall, or you can use an Accela ePermitting account to submit the application online, look here.  You will still need to bring in all supporting drawings and documents, we have no way to take those electronically.  Your application will not be complete until the City of Millersburg has all drawings and supporting documents.

Residential mechanical and/or plumbing permits can still be issued over the counter at City Hall in Millersburg; all other building permits will require review of the submitted documents and plans before they can be issued.

The building permit fees are submitted in essentially two steps- an applicant must pay the Plan Review cost at the time of the application submittal to assure the County's review costs are covered.  Once that is paid the City and County will review the documents and notify the applicant of the remaining fees prior to the issuance of the building permit.  System Development Charges (SDC's) are paid separately.

Some building-related permits are administered directly by the City, those applications are below.  Feel free to contact City Hall with any questions.
